Synopsis

Whether you are someone who loves to cook or someone who cooks only from necessity there is a place for this book in your kitchen. It not only provides a wonderful selection of step-by-step recipes but also teaches concepts, allowing an easy understanding of the processes involved in micro-wave cookery.

A microwave oven can be fully integrated into the design of your kitchen units or conveniently placed on a worktop; different models offer automatic programming or simple manual selection. There is a model of microwave oven to suit all types of cooking, whether you are catering for a large family or a busy single person.

Cooking for one, cooking for children, preparing a romantic dinner for two, this book offers delicious and healthy options. There is a wide range of recipe possibilities, and the results can be truly impressive.

For great results think ‘outside the box’ and propel your cooking into the twenty-first century!

Extract from the book

Who makes soup these days when there are so many varieties available in the supermarket that only need re-heating?

I do, because there is no comparison between the home made and the pre-prepared versions. Home made soup is luscious, thicker and altogether tastier. If it’s cooked in a microwave oven it will also be bursting with nutrients.

All soups and pâtés cook perfectly in a microwave oven, though they often take as long to cook as they do on the top of the stove, due to the pasta or rice in them that needs re-hydrating during the cooking process.

However the end results are always excellent and there is no direct cooking source, so the bottom of the dish won’t burn – which is great for all those creamed soups. If the timer finishes and you have to leave the room, the soup won’t boil over, it will be at the same stage as when you left it, so just give it a stir and carry on.
